Heather F. Mast is a Canadian author who is in the process of publishing her first book. The Meeting: A Lesson in Boundaries from a Matcha and Mochi series will be available for purchase in early spring 2026.
Heather spends most days homeschooling her young son since her return from teaching abroad. Her experience as a mother and as an ESL teacher is brought together to create entertaining books for families and educators.
In her spare time, Heather likes to learn and practice languages such as Korean and Spanish. She hopes her books will reach learners around the world and encourage an interest in English.
Meet the Pets!
Mochi
She had a rough beginning. Prior to adoption she was hit by a car. This cat showed how tough she was however, and had nothing more than a bruise! Her toughness sure came in handy when Matcha the pup came into her life and bothered her daily- as puppies do!
Don’t let that grumpy face and tough cattitude trick you! Mochi is the sweetest cat around and greets everyone with purrs and snuggles.
Mochi likes to spend her days napping in her cat tree, curled up on a cozy bed, or watching everyone from a high perch. When she isn’t snoozing away, she’s playing with Matcha, and sneaking into the cat treats.
Matcha
She is one crazy dog! Or at least that’s what Mochi would say. This stubborn but sweet dog loves to play ! She will pile the toys at your feet until you join in her fun. Her favorite game; tug-o-war!
She’s friendly and loves kids, sometimes a little too much (she’s part kangaroo)! Matcha is still young at heart and learning manners. Right now her puppy-like excitement still gets the better of her!
Occasionally you can find the pet pair sitting by the window, watching passers-by.
When she isn’t guarding windows, you can find Matcha snuggling with the family.
